Pewamo-Westphalia -
In a non-conference matchup the Chargers took to the road once again to take on state ranked Pewamo-Westphalia on Friday night. After a back and forth contest on both ends and defensive battle the Chargers dropped the contest 53-50 dropping their record to 4-2 on the season.
Leading the Chargers were Freshmen Evah Smith with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Junior Kendyl Smith contributed 14 points and 6 assists.
“Pewamo was a really physical team that played discipline and executed their game plan well. We got into foul trouble early and couldn’t settle in but the experience we gained tonight will be a benefit for the weeks to come. We have a big one tomorrow with Grosse Pointe South so we need to bounce back.” - Ryan Trevithick (Head Coach - Powers Catholic)
The Chargers return to action tomorrow Saturday January 4 in another non-conference match up with Grosse Pointe South in the Motor City Classic hosted by Cass Tech High School. Tip off is scheduled for 2:40pm.
