The Powers Catholic Girls Basketball team played their last home conference game on Tuesday vs Carman Ainsworth as they celebrated Senior Night and honored Breast Cancer Awareness.  The game was decided within the first half of play as the Chargers ran out to a 48-13 halftime lead behind a high tempo fast paced offense.

“We were able to get out early on them, and with them only having 6 kids we knew we had to make sure they didn’t have their legs after halftime.” - Coach Trevithick

The second half was a running clock as the Chargers cruised to a 63-27 victory over the visiting Cavaliers.  Leading the way for the Chargers was Junior Kendyl Smith with 22 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds and 0 turnovers.  Sophomore Evah Smith added 16 points and 9 rebounds while Junior Paige Ringwelski added 9 and 9 respectfully.

“Tonight was more than a game for us we got to honor our seniors Makayla and Lindsay as they played their final contest in conference at home.  We are so proud of these two and who they have become and what they’ve added and brought our program standards to.  We will surely miss their presence next season but we aren’t done yet.” - Coach Trevithick

Lindsay Krampe and Makayla Stewart were honored before the game in a celebration of the accomplishments and commitment to the girls basketball program.  Thank you Ladies for everything you've done for Powers Catholic Basketball.

The Chargers return to competition on Friday at Lapeer for a final conference game.  Tip off is scheduled for 6:00pm in a triple header with the boys varsity to follow at 7:30pm.
