Goggins Fieldhouse -

All year Goggins Fieldhouse has provided a warm home cooked meal for the Chargers and Friday night was no different.  The Powers Catholic girls basketball team defeated Armada to finish the regular season undefeated at home 75-50.

The Chargers used a big 2nd quarter to outscore the visiting tigers 39 - 19 in the first half after winning the second frame 17-5.

“I thought we played inspired basketball tonight.  The ability for our seniors to win their last game on this floor is special.  Our underclassmen knew the assignment and pulled it together and competed against a tough well coached Armada team.” - Coach Trevithick

The Chargers were led by a big night from Kendyl Smith with 35 points, but as a team the Chargers spread the scoring around with five other Chargers scoring more than 5 points.  Powers had 20 assists on 26 made FGs.

“We shared the ball and made some big shots when we needed it.  It was really special to see the girls play like that!  We are going to miss having Makayla and Lindsay share this floor with us but we want to make sure they get a few more practices with us before it’s over.” - Coach Trevithick

The Chargers begin district play this upcoming Wednesday where they will face the winner of the Linden/Ortonville-Brandon Game.  Tip off is scheduled for 7:00pm @ Lake Fenton High School.
