Powers Catholic Boys Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Fenton 14-6 on Tuesday night. Powers started fast, scoring the first 6 goals of the contest, taking an impressive 9-2 Halftime lead. Powers was led in scoring by junior RJ McAndrews with a game high 6 goals and 2 assists, followed by Junior Josh Back and Freshman Nolan McAndrews who both had 2 goals and 2 assists each. 6 different Chargers found the back of the net, Senior Koen Hernandez scored 2 goals while tallying a goal a piece was Freshman Owen Perry and Junior Ian Murawski. Senior Andrew Kang dominated the faceoff x with an impressive 17 faceoff wins at the X for a 77% faceoff percentage and a game high 9 Ground balls. Juniors Gunnar Davis and Parker Bendall led the defense gathering 5 and 7 Ground balls. Back stopping the win was Senior Goalie Alex Do who made 3 saves, while getting into his first Varsity game, Freshman Takoda Sullivan made 2 saves. The Boys Lacrosse team will look to further its winning ways after Spring Break on April 9th when it travels to Walled Lake United.
