Charger Baseball Falls in SVL Action

   Powers fell 2-1 in eight innings vs. Bay City Western, the #2 team in Division 1. Pitcher Keagen Kohlhoff held the Warriors to four hits and one run, striking out eleven in 6.2 innings. The Chargers tied the game in the bottom of the 7th when Santino Evely drove in Eli Sturgess with a liner to right. Western scored in the top of the eighth. Powers got the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the eighth but couldn’t come up with a timely hit.
   No Charger highlights beyond a double by Matteo Checchini in the nightcap, a 9-0 loss to visitors. Powers travels downriver to play a 3-game tournament in the Trenton area on Saturday and takes on Saginaw Heritage at home next Monday. Onward!
