The Powers Varsity team started SVL week at mass for “Moms, Mass, & Brunch”. It was a beautiful day! The girls received a special blessing from Fr Joe; reminding us of our faith, strength, and perseverance.

On Monday, May 5th the Lady Chargers traveled to Lansing Catholic (2-6). Putting up 2 points for Powers: 1 Singles, Ellisen LaFay (6-3, 6-4) and 2 Singles, Kallie Lloyd-Jones (6-2, 6-4).
On the 7th, PCAT tied with Regional opponents Clarkston Everest 4-4. Scoring big for the Chargers:
1S: LaFay 6-0, 6-1
3S: Lolyana Yapchai 6-1, 6-1
1D: Maryssa Safford/Elle Spezia 3-6, 6-4, 6-4
2D: Marissa Villaire/Sylvia Porrett 6-4, 6-4

SVL Championship took place on May 8th with the Varsity team scoring 14.5 points, earning them 4th PLACE overall!! (12 teams)
Despite the wind and freezing temps, the girls battled and played some amazing tennis!
1D (Safford/Spezia) and 4S (Anna Reinig) advanced to the Finals while 1S (LaFay), 2S (Lloyd-Jones), 3S (Yapchai), 2D (Villaire/Porrett) competed in the Semifinals.
