Powers Varsity Golf Team competed in the rain soaked SVL Finals at The Fortress in Frankenmuthopn Wednesday marking the end of the regular season. The event was won by Grand Blanc thus earning the Bob Cats the league championship and trophy. Grand Blanc  fired a 314 today beating Davison by 8 shots. Powers finished back in the pack with a score of 350. The tournament co-medalists were Ben Groulx of Midland and Jay Morris from Davison each firing a 76. Leading scorer for Powers was Jimmy Dean with an 84. Jimmy earned the John Wayne True Grit Award form Coach Beach for his dogged determination durring the brutal conditions in which the tournameny was played in. Up next for Powers is the MHSAA Region 2-11 Tournament next Tuesday to be held at The Flint Golf Club.
