Seniors Power Chargers on “Senior Day”

   Senior first baseball Nathan Gebhardt led the way with three hits and three RBI’s and Senior pitchers Santino Evely and Keagen Kohlhoff shutdown visiting Linden on a combined 10-strikeout two-hitter. Additionally, Seniors Kaden Martel, Aiden Olah, and Donovan Moreno started and contributed. Sophomore Eli Sturgess joined the party by knocking in three runs.
   But it was also a big day for the parents, the proud moms and dads who’ve guided their sons since days of t-ball to the day before their sons’ final classes of high school. The tributes, the music, the balloons, and a final jog around the bases made for impressive and emotional farewell to playing baseball at the home field.
   The on-again-off-again misty conditions threatened throughout, yet a 10-0 win makes the 2025 Charger varsity 18-11 on the year. All the festivities created a “grand slam of a day.”
   Recovery and rest heads the agenda next, followed by preparation for a Flint Tournament semifinal on Monday, Memorial Day (May 26th)@ 4:30pm vs. Goodrich at Broome Park. A win puts Powers in the Finals beginning about 7pm.
