Cross Country Finishes as Saginaw Valley Conference Runner Ups

The Men's cross country Team ran their best race of the season to finish second in the highly competitive Saginaw Valley Conference.

The men were led by the 1-2 combo of Bryce Gross and Lennox Naswell. Gross was the first Charger to win the individual SVL crown since Chandler Lorf in 2017

Gross and Naswell started the race conservatively before pushing ahead of the competition in the second mile. In the third mile they worked together and relied on the strength they've built over hundreds of miles in training. Gross finished with a time of 15:49.51 and was followed by Naswell in 15:50.38! An incredibly close finish for the two teammates. With both Chargers being underclassmen this is a battle that we will get to see again!

The meet was won by Midland in a score of 58 points with the Chargers in second place with 66 points.

Thomas Bieter came up big for the Chargers with a 12th place finish in a personal best time of 16:38.59. Ben Bouchey was 24th overall and the scoring was completed by Caleb Carignan in 27th.

On the women's side the Chargers were led by Grace Evanoff in 5th place and Grace Murphy in 10th. Murphy. As a team the women finished 6th with 142 points.
