Senior right hander Joe Vermette held the visiting Huskies to three hits and one unearned over four innings to help Powers to a 12-2 win. A four-run second and six run fifth triggered the ten-run rule. Isaac Sturgess and Connor Kelly each had a pair of hits and drove in a run. Senior Elijah Britton singled in a run and scored a pair.
The Chargers move to 28-8 overall and will take on Linden at 12 noon Saturday at Owosso in the first round of the state playoffs.
However, the big winners today were the team members who represent the class of 2023: Joe Brock, Elijah Britton, Jack Dawley, Joe Vermette, Zander Asbridge, Garrett Wright, and Jakob Malenich.
