Blue Devil Relays

On a chilly and overcast Saturday the Men's and Women's track teams both defended their team titles at the Blue Devil Relays hosted by Lake Fenton. 

The women won with a total of 54 points to edge the hosts by 10. On the men's side the Chargers tallied 52.5 points to beat Lake Fenton who scored 37. The men's and women's team overcame a number of injuries and illnesses. The lineup changed throughout the course of the day and many Chargers stepped up across the roster. Notably Grace Cameron ran key legs on 3 relays in her first ever track meet and her relays took first place in all 3 races.

The meet consisted of only relays and in the field events the total performances of the top two competitors are combined for a team total. 

The Middle distance relay of Leo Dion, Bryce Gross, Christian Dedivanaj and Aiden Lobsinger placed first 

The 4 x 110 meter shuttle hurdle relay team of Alex Bissett, Zeph Bucy, Gage Coon and Ben Skinner finished third. 

The distance medley relay team of David Murphy, Peter Huey, Jaxson Sephen and Aiden Lobsinger placed first. 

The Sprint Medley Relay team of Aaiden Gonzalez, Malachi Taylor, Gage Coon and Ayden McCracken placed 3rd.

The Chargers had a good day in the field events as the duo of Malachi Taylor and Christina Dedivanaj took first. with Taylor the overall winner. 

In the sprint relays the Chargers ran without 2 usual members of the team but still performed fantastically. The men's 400 meter relay team of Ayden McCracken, Leo Stravato, Malachi Taylor and Charlie Fritz finished second behind a strong Atherton team. The 800 meter relay team of Ayden McCracken, Leo Stravato, Zeph Bucy and Charlie Fritz also finished second. 

The distance foursome of Jaxson Stephen David Murphy, Peter Huey and Aiden Lobsinger out ran the field to take first in the distance medley relay. 

RJ Goergen was the sole Charger to clear opening height in the pole vault and he took 3rd overall. 

Joe Brock was the individual champion in the long jump with a personal best of 18'6. He combined with Connor Mayhew to take 1st overall. 

The women's team was dominant on the track as they won every running event with the exception of the 400 meter relay which was disqualified because of a lane violation following a dropped baton. 

The following were the winning teams:

The middle distance relay team of Grace Cameron, Lindsay Krampe, Michaela Wolosku and Bree Krampe.

3200 meter relay Grace Evanoff, Danielle Bobowski, Grace Cameron and Reegan Littleon

The 800 meter relay team of Sydney Patt, Michaela Wolosuj, Madison Smith and Makenna Pobocik.

The Distance Medley Relay of Grace Evanoff, Grace Cameron, Bree Krampe and Kayleigh Boike. 

The mile relay of Madison Smith, Danielle Bobowski, Sara Campbell and Makenna Poboci. 

The sprint medley relay of Grace Evanoff, Haleena Abueita, Andelina Grossi and Michaela Wolosuk

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Olivia Hamilton, Sara Campbell, Andelina Grossi and Chloe Wood. 

In the field events the Chargers were led by the duo of Michaela Wolosuk and Haleen Abueite who finished 1-2. 

In the Discus and shot put Molly Luebke and Danielle Loringer finished 2nd 

The Chargers have a Saginaw Valley League Jamboree on Tuesday at Lapeer and compete in the Ovid-Elsie invite on Friday.
