The Flint Powers Chargers move to (5-2) after avenging last years regional semi final loss to the Bay City Western Warriors by a score of 13-2. Led by Tino Perani, the Chargers’ defense killed off 7 of 8 man down situations as well as posted an 80% save percentage on the day.
Bay City Western got on the scoreboard first by scoring on the initial possession of the contest but the Chargers bounced back by scoring the next three tallies and they never looked back. Key contributors on the night were Koen Hernandez with a team high 6 Ground Balls and a three-way tie with 5 points each by Max Phillpotts (5G/5P), Charlie Fritz (4G/1A/5P) and Peter Huey (2G/3A/5P).
Next Tuesday the Lapeer Lighting visit Atwood Stadium in a Saginaw Valley League Varsity only match up as Flint Powers aims to improve their record to (6-2), Game starts at 6pm.
