Over the weekend both boys and girls varsity teams competed in the Division 3 Region 17 tournament to attempt to qualify for States. Only the top three teams can advance out of the field. and top 10 for the singles portion.
Up first were the Girls, who were comfortably in the top three all day, finishing in second and returning to the State tournament for the second year in a row!
For the Singles event, we had three of the top 10 girls advance to States. Out of a field of 86 girls, juniors, Elizabeth Teuber, Lillee-Ann Jacobs and senior, Libby Hagan not only finished in the top ten, but were in the top five! Elizabeth won the regional outright for the second year in a row, Lillee finished 3rd and Libby 5th. All three girls were in the top 5 through all 6 games, showing impressive fortitude and consistency.
The boys Fell just short in their competition, missing the cut by just 50 pins, but fought to the end and made themselves proud.
For singles We had junior, John Teuber and freshman, Alex Bissett finish 2nd and 7th respectively. Both boys remained in the top ten throughout the entire day and will look to capture the first boys singles title in school history.
