The Powers varsity soccer team improved their record to 4-2-0 with a solid 3-1 victory at Bay City Western. Senior Leo Stravato was the standout performer, securing his third hat trick of the season. Stravato's goals included two penalty kicks.
Bay City Western initially took the lead with a penalty kick goal in the first half. However, Stravato responded swiftly, scoring a goal and then converting a penalty kick to put Powers ahead. He added another penalty kick in the second half to seal the win. The defense played a crucial role, effectively containing Bay City Western's offense and ensuring the victory.
The team’s next challenge is an away game at Mt. Pleasant on Monday, September 9th, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
