The Powers Catholic Girls’ Basketball team hit the road for a SVL matchup against the Bobcats of Grand Blanc. The Chargers competed hard on the defensive end and created plenty of opportunities but in the end fell to Grand Blanc by a score of 55-25.
“I’m proud of our effort on the defensive end of the floor for discipline and assignment. A few times we missed box outs early on and that led to 2nd chance points. That and our inability to get good shots was too much for us to overcome. I believe we are doing a lot of great things but tonight was not our night.” - Coach Trevithick
The Chargers (13-5) fell to 6-2 in the conference, were led by Senior Alexcis Parker who scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the defeat. Through all the adversity Coach Trevithick saw a lot of the Chargers.
“It’s hard to really pin point something that we did well, but when teams have to completely shift their offense and defenses to create opportunities you’re doing something well. Our girls competed tonight and there aren’t a lot of moral victories walking out of this thing, but I can tell you I’m proud of where are kids are at. There was no blame just a unified approach to wanting to get better tomorrow. We will do just that; KAIZEN.” - Coach Trevithick
The Chargers return to action as they travel to take on Bay City Western (14-3) (6-2) on Friday with tip off scheduled for 7:00pm at Bay City Western High School.
