A balanced scoring attack led to a 60-24 victory over Bay City Central for the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team. The Chargers used a 37-10 second half to secure a road victory.
Senior Grace Cameron provided a well rounded game with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals while Sophomores Paige Ringwelski and Kendyl Smith combined for 21 points on the night.
“The girls’ did a great job tonight competing for 32 minutes of basketball. 17 assists on 24 field goals is a good percentage but our defense is what really stood out. We created a ton of possessions off of our rebounding and crashing the glass. Bay City is well coached and is a hard place to go play as we’ve experienced that two years ago. It’s nice to get out of there with a win.” - Coach Trevithick
The Chargers (9-1) generated 27 offensive rebounds on the night and forced 34 Bay City turnovers. Powers returns to the court this evening to face off in non-conference action against Fenton. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00pm with JV tipping at 5:30pm.
