Powers Girls Basketball Defend Home Court

Inside Goggins Fieldhouse, the Powers Catholic Girls’ Basketball team took on the visiting Fenton Tigers in a non-conference matchup Thursday night.  The Chargers jumped out early and led from start to finish in a convincing 68-11 victory.

In the victory every Charger player scored and defense ruled the day as the Chargers forced 34 turnovers converting into 37 points.  The Chargers were led in scoring by sophomore Kendyl Smith with 18 points on 7-10 shooting while Senior Brianna Krampe (9) and Junior Lindsay Krampe (8) poured in 17 collective off the bench for the Chargers.

“Our energy was incredible tonight, and our student section was lively, and it made a great experience.  That’s been a staple for this team as they create their own energy and tonight Brianna brought the energy and at one time the crowd was chanting her name!  I’m proud of our team for being great teammates and continuing to trust in the process.”  - Coach Trevithick

The Chargers hit the midway of the season with a 10-1 record.  Next up is SVL cross-town rival Davison on Tuesday @ Davison High School.  Tip off is scheduled for 5:30pm prior to the boys 7:00pm tip.
