The Chargers rolled to a 12-3 victory game one victory behind strong pitching (Connor Kelly allowed 1 hit in 5.1 innings with 7 strikeouts; and 1.1 of one-hit relief by Isaac Stugess). Gavin Darling led the offense with three hits and three RBI's, and Sturgess chipped in a pair of hits; Fischer Hendershot drove in two; and Elijah Britton smacked a two-RBI triple.
In the nightcap, Heritage rallied for two runs in the seventh inning to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 win. Sturgess added two hits and an RBI for the 5-1 Chargers (1-1 in SVL). Powers hosts Lapeer on Monday at 4 p.m. for a doubleheader. Dress warm--the 80-degree weather may be "long gone" by next week!
