Senior Night for Powers Catholic Varsity Football

Senior Nite 23 It was an epic Senior Nite for the PCAT Chargers when they faced off against the Beecher Bucs for the final game of the season at Atwood Stadium. Seniors Seniors Braxton Edwards, Damian Ketchmark and Jack Camara went off scoring a total 6 touchdowns on offense. The Bucs #4 was left questioning his decision to run forward after crashing into a wall called Brady Lendzion at the 30 moments after the the PCAT senior kicked off. The Juniors held up their part with defensives players Sawyer Beauchamp, Kaden Martell, and Ben Skinner totaling 6 of the Chargers 8 Sacks! Charger Nation got a sneak peek of next year’s team while watching sophomores Zeph Bucy rushfor 14 yards and Corbin Dixner & Alex Crumm gaining two tackles each. The future is bright for Charger Nation!

DCD takes win over PCHS Varsity Football on Pink Out Night

Powers Catholic faced off against Detroit Country Day in Week 7 of the 2023 season. The Charger's Pink Out game was a success as the football team helped raise a total of $1,727 from t-shirt and bake sale items for breast cancer awareness. Also, crushing the competition on the field were the PCAT Joes (Dickerson and Holifield), leading the defense with 6 tackles each and Kaden Martel who snatched a fumble recovery. Both Javonte Ross and Blake Newcombe scored rushing touchdowns on Friday night, while Brady Lendzion continued his quest for a perfect season of completed point after and field goal attempts in the 2023!

Tough Loss on Homecoming for PCAT Varsity Football

Week six of the 2023 season saw the Chargers face off against Ogemaw Heights amidst the fun and festivities of Homecoming. The PCAT defense menaced Ogemaw’s offense throughout the game. Leading the charge was Joe Dickerson with 7 tackles and a sack, leading to senior Owen Brennan’s fumble recovery. Considerations are in process to memorialize Brady Lendzion’s leg with a bronzed replica which will sit in The Commons. Only the Ogemaw fans were surprised when Lendzion’s 47 yard field goal attempt was successful. To round out the Homecoming Festivities, Ariel Crowder was crowned homecoming queen and Adele played in the student section after Jack Camara’s 38 yard run, resulting in a touchdown in the eastern end zone.

Another win for PCHS Varsity Football vs. Saginaw United

Week four of the 2023 season Charger Nation faced off against a rough and tumble Saginaw United. Senior Anthony Cook was menace against the United offense with a sack to their quarterback and a fumble recovery. The student section erupts every time senior Brady Lendzion tackled the Saginaw kick returner after kicking for a 268 yards and continuing his perfect season of point after attempts. Powers offense rushed for 294 yards, resulting in 5 Charger touchdowns for Javonte Ross, Jack Camara and Blake Newcomb.

Powers Varsity Football Secure win against Flint Southwestern

Week three of the 2023 season, fans gathered at Atwood to see the Powers Catholic Chargers facing off against the Flint Jaguars. Powers defense dominated the field Friday night with senior Anthony cook leading the way with four of the chargers 20 tackles, one interception (Jacob Davis) and two of the five charger fumble recoveries resulting in touchdowns for both Joe Dickerson and Joey Holifield. Not to be outdone by the defense, Powers offense rushed over 200 yards, resulting in 6 Charger touchdowns for senior Jack Camara (3), juniors Javonte Ross (2), and Blake Newcombe (1).
