Powers Chargers Take Home Win Over Midland Dow
Updated on 08/27/2024
Powers came out on top in their final regular season game denying Dow a share of the SVL League Championship and giving Grand Blanc the outright title. Several of the Grand Blanc soccer boys showed up to the game to cheer the boys on to victory and celebrate after each Powers goal!! Very cool as many of these boys have played soccer together growing up in the sport.
As for the game, Powers came out playing with high-energy and immediately pressured Dow’s defense. Brady Lendzion scored in the first 5 minutes after receiving a perfect through-pass from Gage Haines. Brendan Sly quickly scored again with some fantastic passing from the offense but the goal was called off due to an off sides penalty. The defense then stood tall against Dow’s fierce offensive attack throughout the remainder of the half. Brady Lendzion opened the scoring in the second half with a beautiful left footed goal from distance. Dow down 2-0 attempted a comeback scoring one goal but the defense was able to withstand their all-out offensive attack and preserve the 2-1 win. This was a great victory for the team against a top opponent as we head into the playoffs on Wednesday against Montrose.#pcatsoccer #PowerCatholicBoysSoccer #PowersCatholic
