Powers Catholic JV Falls to Detroit Catholic Central Despite Stellar Goalkeeping

DCC The Powers JV Boys soccer team had a hard fought game against the Catholic Central Shamrocks. Jude Goergen made 24 saves including saving a penalty shot. The final was 3-0.

JV SOCCER TAKE HOME ANOTHER WIN

 In their second straight contest of the week the young chargers of JV soccer took on the warriors of Bay City Western. They got off to a quick start with goals by Cooper Villaire and Robert Charleston who recorded his first ever tally for Powers. To round out the first half Charlie Allen found a free corner and slotted it home. In the second half cooper Villaire found his second of the night and the contest ended 4-1. JV takes on the oilers of Mt. Pleasant next Monday.

PC JV SOCCER CONNECTS OVER CHEMICS

On Wednesday night the boys of JV soccer traveled to the far north of Midland to take on the Chemics of Midland High School. In the middle of the first half, Aiden Walsh won the young Chargers a penalty which was then confidently slotted home by Colin “Crumessi” Crumm. From there on out there was no looking back for the Chargers. William Bade would make it 2-0. Zach Phillpotts  and Cole de Beaubien would also score their first career goals as the young Chargers cruised to victory of 4-1. The JV boys will travel south to Oxford on Tuesday.

POWERS JV SOCCER TAKE DOWN NOTRE DAME PREP

On Monday night the boys of Powers JV soccer took on Notre Dame prep in a great early season contest. NDP opened up scoring but late first half effort by Will “The Flash” Bade. Deadlocked at half the boys came out firing with a late game tactical change up that saw Aidan “Wally” Walsh get the game winner, which was quickly followed up by Will “The Flash” Bade getting his second of the night. The final score was 3-1. The JV boys will take on the Midland Chemics at their pitch on Wednesday at 6 PM.

POWERS JV TIE FENTON

Last night the Powers JV soccer team had their first contest of the season at Fenton High school. Making his debut in net was Jacob Tetteh who stood tall and had several saves. Down 2-1 with nine minutes left in the match Will Bade scored a fantastic goal to level the game even at two goals a piece. It is said that 75% of the world is covered by water, the other 25% is covered by Cooper Villaire who had an absolute monster of a game in the midfield and furthermore opened up the scoring for the Chargers. The JV team plays next Monday at 4:30 at Atwood against NDP.
