PCAT JV VB Continues Winning Streak

JV Powers volleyball team won the match against Carmen Ainsworth, making it their 8th win in a row. Lauren Lavoie led the team with a 17 point service streak. Sophie Molosky earned several assists, with Paige Gordley and Michaela Wolosuk and Ellie Brooks racking up the kills! The team is now 8-1 heading into their next match on Wednesday
PCHS JV Volleyball takes down BCW

The Volleyball program started the week off with a Monday night conference match at the Fieldhouse against Bay City Western. The evening started off with a very competitive JV match between two very good teams with Powers edging a 2-1 match victory. Standouts for the JV team were Lauren Lavoie leading the team from the setter role, Bella Jamison and Micaela Wolosuk anchoring the outside hitter roles with Paige Gordley and Madeline Widder putting up huge blocks in the middle. Freshmen Ellie Brooks was also very solid in the libero role.
The Powers Volleyball program is back in action Thursday at Lapeer.
PCAT JV Volleyball Recap vs. Heritage

The freshmen and JV teams led off the night by capturing victories at both levels. The JV were in a battle from the start, taking set 1 26-24 in a high energy comeback. Lauren Lavoie and Sophia Molosky led the way at setter. Marisela Mindlin had some timely kills on the right side. Ellie Brooks, Bella Jamison and Micaela Wolosuk kept the ball control in check all night.
PCHS JV VOLLEYBALL BRINGS HOME GOLD

The girls' JV volleyball team brought home the first place trophy from the Mt. Morris tournament this weekend. They went 3-1 in pool play, losing only to Goodrich. They blew through the rest of their pool thanks to Lauren Lavoie's killer serves.
The team faced the strong opponent, Oxford in the semifinal match taking it to play 3 sets. They dropped the first set and had to battle back to win the second. Down 17-21, Bella Jamison strung together 7 powerful serves to take the lead and in the end win the set. With several blocks by Elena Mindlin and Paige Gordley the girls set out to win the third set, keeping the lead the entire time
The finals brought Goodrich to the opposing side for the second time that day. The girls continued to play strong with several digs by Ellie Brooks. The kills from both the middle and outside gave the girls control of the game the entire two sets leading them to avenge that first lost and declare victory.
