The Chargers came out victorious in their regional championship game against Arthur Hill 59-51. The Chargers would trail 23-20 at half time but their no quit attitude would allow them to take the lead in the 3rd quarter and never relinquish it. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 15 points and 5 assists. Jesse Cull added 14 points. Connor Kelly had 13 points and 8 rebounds and Dempsey Cull added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Meanwhile, Grant Garman played suffocation defense all night, holding Arthur Hill's star player to 11 points, 13 points below his season average. The Chargers advance to the quarterfinals Tuesday night where they will face Kingsford.

Powers defeated Lapeer Friday night 85-52 in the regular season finale. The Chargers honored their 6 seniors pregame in what is their final home game: Baylor Cicalo, Christian Dedivanaj, Joe Dickerson, Grant Garman, Connor Kelly, and Brady Lendzion. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 22 points and 6 assists. Jesse Cull added 15 points and Connor Kelly just missed a double double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. We thank our seniors for their special contribution to the program!

Powers moves on to districts at Owosso Wednesday where they will face the winner of Durand and Owosso. 

The Chargers opened up their state tournament run with a 81-65 win over Durand. Powers led from start to finish and controlled the game for the majority  of it. Jesse Cull led the Chargers with 26 points. Dempsey Cull added 15 points and Connor Kelly 10 points and 7 rebounds. The Chargers will face Hamady Friday night at 7:00 for the district title. 

The Chargers won the district title Friday night defeating Hamady by a score of 59-53. The Chargers went down 18-10 in the 2nd quarter before ending the quarter on a 12-2 run to take the lead into halftime. The Chargers would then lead for a majority of the second half before putting the game away in the end. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Connor Kelly chipped in 12 points. Grant Garman, Jesse Cull and Dempsey Cull had 8 each. The Chargers advance to the regional semi-finals Tuesday at 7:00 to face Shepherd at Corunna High School.

The Chargers couldn't overcome a hot shooting night from Heritage and fell Thursday night 80-40. Connor Kelly led the Chargers with 10 points. The Chargers are back in action Friday night at home for Senior Night to face Lapeer. We will be honoring our 6 seniors Baylor Cicalo, Christian Dedivanaj, Joe Dickerson, Grant Garman, Connor Kelly, and Brady Lendzion. 

Powers defeated Dow Monday night at home 84-61. Powers led wire to wire seeing their lead grow to as big as 31 at one point. Javontae Ross led Powers with 22 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. Jesse Cull added 20 points including 5 of 8 from 3 point land. Connor Kelly tallied 16 points and 5 rebounds. The Chargers are back on the road Thursday for a SVL showdown with Saginaw Heritage. 

The Chargers won their 3rd straight on the road Friday night, defeating Western by a score of 78-58. A fast paced offense and hot shooting was the theme in the win on the night and it got started in the 1st quarter with 21 points. The Chargers would lead 43-32 at the half before extending it to 16 heading into the 4th. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 17 points. Connor Kelly added 16 points. Christian Dedivanaj and Breckin Cicalo came off the bench to score 14 and 10 respectively. The Chargers return home Monday night to face Dow.

The Chargers won a huge SVL tilt Tuesday night on the road defeating Grand Blanc 62-58 in overtime. The game was a back and forth affair all night with neither team able to pull away. Grand Blanc held a 29-24 halftime lead before a strong 3rd quarter for Powers saw them leading by 5 heading into the 4th. Javontae Ross hit a free throw with 30 seconds left to tie the game before it ultimately went into overtime. Dempsey Cull hit 2 threes to start the period which gave them the lead for good in overtime. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 14 points and 6 assists. Dempsey and Jesse Cull both added 12 points and Connor Kelly tallied 11 points and 15 rebounds. The Chargers are back on the road Friday night to face Bay City Western.

The Chargers were victorious at Midland Friday night winning 88-43. Powers put in a complete performance on both ends of the floor from start to finish. The Chargers led by 18 at half before stretching the lead to 34 by the start of the 4th. Connor Kelly led the Chargers with 17 points. Baylor Cicalo and Jesse Cull added 13 points each. Javontae Ross tallied 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. The Chargers are back on the road Tuesday to face Grand Blanc.

The Chargers were unable to overcome a slow start and fell 77-66 to Davison in SVL play. The Chargers were down 29-7 after the quarter before a furious rally in the 2nd half cut it to 5 with 4 minutes to play. Unfortunately, they couldn't gain any more ground and ultimately lost despite the valiant effort. The Chargers played very hard on the night despite not being our best shooting game. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 22 points. Dempsey Cull added 14 points and Connor Kelly 12 points. Powers is back in action Friday night to face Midland on the road. 

Powers knocked off Hamtramck Friday night 81-78 in overtime. The game saw 80 free throw attempts combined by the 2 teams. Powers led by 8 at half before a furious rally cut the lead to 3 going into the 4th, A 3 point play by Hamtramck with 17 seconds to play would tie the game and send it into overtime. The Chargers maintained their composure in the overtime period missing only 1 free throw and prevailing in the end. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 29 points. Connor Kelly added 15 points and 6 rebounds and Jesse Cull 11 points. The Chargers head on the road to face Davison on Tuesday.

The Chargers moved to 3-1 in SVL play with a 63-29 win Wednesday night over Bay City Central. Defense was the theme of the game as the Chargers suffocated Central all night and held them to 9 first half points. Javontae Ross led Powers with 15 points and 5 assists. Connor Kelly added 11 points and 6 rebounds and Christian Dedivanaj scored 10 points. 9 different Chargers scored on the night. Powers plays host to Hamtramck Friday night in a non-league tilt.

The Freshman were also winners on the night. The JV fell in overtime.

The Chargers fell Friday night 66-56 at Saginaw High. Jesse Cull led the Chargers with 18 points. Javontae Ross added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Connor Kelly had 9 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Powers returns home Tuesday night to face Bay City Central.

Powers went on the road Tuesday at Bridgeport and won 74-53. The Chargers got off to a slow start struggling to knock down shots in the 1st half and trailed at halftime 24-21. Dempsey Cull opened up the 3rd with 3 straight threes to start a 19-2 run in route to a 32 point 3rd quarter. Breckin Cicalo led the Chargers with 16 points off the bench. Dempsey Cull added 14 points and Javontae Ross 13 points. The Chargers are back in action Friday night at Saginaw High.

The Chargers defeated Mt. Pleasant on the road Tuesday night 74-55. Powers started slow and trailed 18-12 after the first quarter. However, a huge second quarter that saw Powers win 28-9 gave them a 13 point lead at the half. Powers controlled the second half and never saw their lead cut closer than 8. Dempsey Cull led the Chargers with 18 points. Connor Kelly had another double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Christian Dedivanaj came off the bench and scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Javontae Ross added 12 points and 9 assists. The Chargers return home Friday night to face Dow. 

The Chargers beat Arthur Hill in front of a packed crowd at Goggins Fieldhouse 72-67. Powers came out hot in the 1st quarter making 5 threes to take a 21-18 lead after the 1st and expand on that lead to 43-32 at halftime. Arthur Hill fought back in the 3rd cutting it to 3 before a 4th quarter run put the home team back up double digits and allowed them to hang on. Connor Kelly led the way with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Javontae Ross added 22 points and 6 assists and Jesse Cull with 10 points and 6 assists. The Chargers shared the ball well all night to the tune of 22 assists on 27 made field goals. The Chargers go on the road Tuesday to face Mt. Pleasant. 

The Chargers defeated North Branch 69-22 Tuesday night. Powers got off to a great start up 20-0 before North Branch. They continued it into the 2nd quarter leading 41-10 at half. Powers maintained consistent effort defensively all night holding North Branch (5-1) to their lowest scoring output of the season. Javontae Ross led all scorers with 22 points. Dempsey Cull added 14 points. Connor Kelly stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Sophomore Tyler Wood scored his first career varsity points with a basket in the 4th quarter. Powers plays Corunna Friday night in the Military appreciation game. 

The Chargers won their 5th straight Saturday defeating the Fenton Tigers by a score of 92-65. The game was back and forth in the early going with the Chargers holding a slim 14-11 lead after 1. Powers outscored Fenton 22-14 in the 2nd to take an 11 point lead at half. They would put Fenton away in the 3rd quarter outscoring them 31-14. The Chargers had 5 players in double figures led by Connor Kelly with 20 points. Javontae Ross recorded his first double double of the season with 16 points and 11 assists. Christian Dedivanaj also had a double double off the bench with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Jesse Cull would add 14 points and Dempsey Cull 12 points. The Chargers made 11 3's and had 23 assists on the night. Powers has a week off before taking on North Branch at home on December 19th. 

The Chargers earned their 4th victory of the year last night over a scrappy Plymouth Christian Academy team 67-40. The Chargers opened the game with some quick transition to lead 16 to 10 at the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back. They stretched that lead to 35-18 before half time. The Chargers forced 27 turnovers which led to 26 points on the night. The boys played suffocating defense all night. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 19 points. Jesse Cull added 18 points and Breckin Cicalo 9 points. Grant Garman stuffed the stat sheet with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The Chargers play Fenton at home Saturday night at 5:00. 

The Chargers went on the road Tuesday night and won big 76-44. The Chargers opened up the game on a 20-2 run and stayed in control throughout. Christian Dedivanaj led Powers with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Javontae Ross tallied 14 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Jesse Cull chipped in 14 points and his brother, Dempsey added 11. Connor Kelly had his 3rd double digit rebound game in a row with 11. The Chargers shared the ball very well to the tune of 23 assists on 31 made baskets. Powers returns home Thursday night to take on Plymouth Christian. 

The Chargers got off to a great start and controlled the rest of the game to defeat Schoolcraft 61-48 at the Louis O'Neal Classic on Saturday. The Chargers used hot shooting to lead 18-12 at after the first quarter. It was a 7 point half time lead before a 21-7 3rd quarter capped off by a Grant Garman buzzer beater opened up a 21 point lead. The Chargers were led by Javontae Ross with 19 points. Connor Kelly had his 2nd double double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jesse Cull added 13 points. The Chargers go on the road Tuesday to face Carrollton.

The Chargers opened up the 23-24 season with a 79-57 win over Reese. Powers got off to a slow start being down 13 to 10 after the first quarter before exploding for 29 points in the 2nd quarter. Powers led by 13 at half time and continued to grow that lead in the 2nd. Javontae Ross led the Chargers with 26 points 6 assists and 6 steals. Connor Kelly had a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds as well as 6 assists. Dempsey Cull and Breckin Cicalo also chipped in with 10 points each. 

The Chargers next game will be Saturday at Saginaw Valley State University against Schoolcraft at 5:30.  

The Chargers needed all 4 quarters to put away a hungry Kingsford team in Quarterfinal action at Gaylord High School 81-77. The game was back and forth much of the night with no team able to grab a lead by more than 6. The Chargers found themselves down 5 late in the 4th before a Connor Kelly 3 and Dempsey Cull layup tied the game. From there, it became a free throw battle with Javontae Ross going 10-12 from the line to secure the victory. Connor Kelly led the Chargers with 26 points including 5 made 3's. Javontae Ross added 22 points and 12 assists. Dempsey Cull and Christian Dedivanaj also scored in double figures on the night with 13 and 10 respectively. Powers advances to the state semifinals Friday night at 5:30 to face Warren Lincoln at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
