PCHS BOYS SWIM TRY NEW EVENTS

Updated on 08/27/2024
Powers had a fun meet against Lapeer at the Community Center last night! The boys swam 'off events' meaning they tried a new event or just swam one they hadn't swam in awhile. The highlight is the water slide at the end!

The winning 200 Medley relay team had a couple new members: Will Gross led off in back, with Ben Bouchey breast, Ethan Ratynski fly and Nate Fisher free.

Bryce Gross swam his first 200 free and got the win! Parker Roeser brought home third!

Max Piper took first in the 200IM!

Will Gross and Nate Fisher went first and second in the 50 Free.

Parker had a great meet also bringing in a third place finish in the 100 Fly. The 500 Free saw a Powers boys sweep! Nate Fisher took 1st, Max Piper 2nd and Ethan Ratynski, in his first time swimming the event got 3rd!

The 200 Free Relay saw a different line up as well. Bryce Gross led off, followed by Parker Roeser, Ben Bouchey and Will Gross brought it back to touch 2nd.

Freshman Andrew Snyder brought in a great 3rd place finish in the 100 back!

Will Gross swam 100 breast for the first time this year and not only took first, but made a state cut as well! Brother, Bryce Gross had a great finish in 2nd.

Coach Chase switched up the relays for the end, and the team of Max Piper, Ethan Ratynski, Brayden Reilly and Nate Fisher took first, followed by Parker Roeser, Paul Fisher, Julian Alkazaha and Andrew Snyder in third.

While we didn't win, it was a great meet to try new events, discover new talent and have fun on relays.
Great job boys!

PCHS Boy’s Swim team took 2nd place at Counties!

There were too many PRs to count, so here are the highlights:

Liam Seifert won the 200 and 500 free! With a 500 free time of 4:44.40 he broke the 23 year old meet record! Liam scored forty points for the Chargers and was awarded ‘Highpoints’ for the meet.

Will Gross won 100 Back by 5 seconds and 100fly by 4 seconds. He also scored 40 points for the Chargers.

This small, but strong team outscored teams that had divers!
In all, we had 17 qualifiers for finals heats!

1st place Medley Relay team of Will Gross, Bryce Gross, Liam Seifert and Nate Fisher

In 200 Free, Liam won, Nate Fisher took third, Max Piper closed the championship heat in 8th and Parker Roeser took 15th.

BOYS SWIM vs. HERITAGE

Updated on 08/27/2024

The boys swam at Heritage in a double dual meet with Saginaw Heritage and Bay City Central. They put up some great times, PRs. and wins! If we only had a diver!!

The Medley Relay team of Will Gross, Bryce Gross, Liam Seifert and Nate Fisher took first!

Max Piper took second in the 200 Free dropping almost 3 seconds, and Bryce Gross dropped 4 seconds to take second place in the 200 IM.

Nate Fisher and Ethan Ratynski went 2nd and 3rd in the 50 free, with Ethan dropping two seconds!

Will Gross came back to drop 1 second in the 100 Fly to take second place, followed by a commanding win for Liam Seifert in the 100 free, a race that saw freshman Paul Fisher drop 22 seconds and Julian Alkazaha drop an incredible 11.42 seconds!

In the 500 free, Nate Fisher and Max Piper came in first and third, with Max turning right around to anchor the 200 Free relay team of Will Gross, Liam Seifert and Ethan Ratynski. It was a close with Will Gross leading out in a 22.8 split, but in the end Powers touched second.

No rest for Will or Liam as they jumped right back in the pool to go first and second in the 100 back!

Sophomore Bryce Gross won the 100 breast by dropping 2.30 seconds, only to line back up to anchor the next and last event, the 400 Free relay with the fastest split for that team. Nate Fisher, Ethan Ratynski, Max Piper and Bryce won that event to close out the night.

In the end, both matchups were within a handful of points...we won one and lost one, but without any diving points, that is a huge night!

Next up is counties! Come out to cheer the team at Fenton High School next week!
