Powers Varsity golf team competed on Monday 4/15 at Tam O’ Shanter CC in West Bloomfield. The Chargers finished in 22 place out of 26 teams. Rochester Adams won the team competition totaling 304 strokes. DeLaSalle and Detroit CC tied for 2nd at 305. The medalist for the tournament was junior Daniel Lee from Adams HS scoring 69 (-3).

Leading the way for Powers (347) was Zane Farah at 78 and Brody Neelands at 85. Also playing for Powers were Tom and Matt Lavoie both shooting 92 and Max Clark scored a 97.

Next up for the Chargers is the Black and Gold Invitational on Thursday 4/18 at Kensington Metro GC

On Monday 4/8, Powers Varsity golf competed in the Westborn Market Invitational hosted by Brother Rice at Katke Cousins GC on the campus of Oakland University.

The 26 team field witnessed the near total solar eclipse as the sky’s were clear and bright. It was an awesome event for the players and coaches.

The event was won by Detroit CC  with  total of 287 ( -1 under par). Howell HS Finished 2nd at 295 with South Lyon East 3rd at 299. The host school ( Brother Rice) was 4th.

Powers tied for 20th place. Leading the way for Powers was Zane Farah (79) 3 Chargers tied at 85. ( Matt Lavoie, Austin Hampton, & Jackson Levijoki). Sophomore Ayden Cook also competed and fired an 87. 

The tournament Medalist was Zach Spencer from Howell HS(-3) 69. Runner-up was Sophomore Jack Whitmore from DCC SHOOTING A (-2) 70.
