Powers Catholic made Senior Night one to remember on Friday, delivering a complete team performance in a decisive 72–39 victory over Davison. The win honored four seniors—Kendyl Smith, Paige Ringwelski, Haleena Abueita, and Lily Witucki—who were celebrated before tipoff and then helped set the tone on the floor with poise, effort, and leadership. From the opening quarter, Powers played with purpose. The Chargers jumped out to an 18–6 lead after one and never looked back, using pressure defense, strong rebounding, and unselfish offense to control the game. By halftime, Powers held a 28–17 advantage, then put the game away with a dominant third quarter, outscoring Davison 27–8 to stretch the lead beyond reach Senior Paige Ringwelski led the way offensively with a game-high 23 points on an efficient 10-of-14 shooting, knocking down three triples and consistently finishing around the rim. Fellow senior Kendyl Smith added 16 points while running the offense, contributing five assists and three steals to go with her scoring. Lily Witucki provided timely perimeter shooting, hitting two three-pointers as part of her six-point night, while Haleena Abueita impacted the game beyond the box score with four assists, steady defense, and composure at the free-throw line. The senior class set the example, but the contributions were balanced across the roster. Powers shot 44.6% from the field and 37.5% from three, while forcing 24 Davison turnovers and winning the rebounding battle, 37–28. Defensively, the Chargers limited Davison to just 33.3% shooting and only three made three-pointers all night More than the numbers, the night was about appreciation and gratitude. The four seniors have each played a vital role in building the program—through leadership, commitment, and a willingness to serve the team in different ways. Friday’s performance was a fitting reflection of their legacy: connected, disciplined, and team-first. Powers Catholic moves forward carrying the momentum of Senior Night, proud of its past and confident in the direction ahead as they host Clarkston at Goggins Fieldhouse on Tuesday Night.
