Flushing, MI - Powers turned in one of its most complete performances of the season last night, defeating Flushing 64–25 with balance, energy, and togetherness on full display. From the opening quarter onward, the game reflected the chemistry this group is building and the trust they continue to show in one another. The tone was set early as Powers jumped out to a 19–9 first quarter lead and never looked back, extending the margin each period and holding Flushing to just 25 total points, including only 2 points in the third quarter Defensively, the group was locked in—forcing 25 turnovers, generating 14 steals, and limiting Flushing to 14.3% shooting from three Offensively, it was the definition of shared success. Powers shot 45.3% from the field, knocked down 9 threes, and assisted on 16 baskets, all while getting contributions up and down the roster The ball moved, opportunities were earned, and players made the most of their minutes, exactly what this staff has been asking for. Head Coach Ryan Trevithick summed it up afterward: “I'm proud of how well the girls balanced their opportunities tonight. They made the most of their minutes and we were able to get everyone a chance to go compete and represent Powers tonight. We turn our attention to Lapeer now as the second half of our conference season begins Friday.” It was a great night for Powers Catholic as they improve their overall record to 11-1. With momentum on their side, Powers now shifts focus to Lapeer as conference play resumes Friday, as it is Military Appreciation Night and all veterans will be receiving a gift package and a thank you for their services.
