Monday Sweep Sends Powers to the Top of SVL-South Baseball 20-0 and 17-0 victories over Saginaw United on Monday, combined with Davison’s sweep over Grand Blanc, catapulted the Chargers to a one-game lead in the final week of the league season. If Powers defeats Saginaw on Wednesday, and later notches a makeup win over Carman-Ainsworth, the Chargers will claim the SVL-South Division title. However, the C-A matchup has yet to be scheduled. SVL crossover series begin next Monday at sites to be determined. The Charger offense was prolific in all regards, and the pitching of Aidan Walls and Logan Gowan was superb as each held United hitless, striking out eight batters of nine faced. Powers ran its record to 13-5 overall (10-3 SVL). Tuesday, Powers hosts the Summit Warriors; Wednesday, Saginaw United; and Friday, Bay City Central (Senior Day). Ride on, you mighty Chargers!
