Powers Catholic Baseball 2026 SVL South Division Champions All hail the Champions! The 17-0 victory over visiting Saginaw was the seventh straight in conference play (and ninth overall) to secure the SVL South Division title for our Chargers by one game over Davison. Five hitters recorded two-hit games: Drew Simmons, Eli Sturgess, Landon Bohanon, Chase Newcomb, and Kane Sekelsky. Sekelsky led the way with four RBIs, including an inside-the-park homer. The Chargers banged 16 hits in all. Pitcher Kael Morningstar, in his first start of the year, held the Phoenix hitless with 8 strikeouts. Powers (16-5 overall) will take on Bay City Western in the first-ever overall championship series next week on Monday and Wednesday. Sites to be determined. Before then, Powers will play a non-league doubleheader on Friday at home versus Bay City Central. On that day, the Chargerswill celebrate Senior Day: hope you can make it!
