The Chargers battled to a hard earned victory Friday night over rival Davison 63-56. Down after the 1st quarter, Powers poured in 21 points in the 2nd quarter to lead by 7 at the break. It was a back and forth battle in the 2nd half with Davison only down 3 with a minute left. Isaac Sturgess made 2 clutch free throws and Javontae Ross hit a layup to finish the game. The defensive effort was outstanding all night from everyone and I am extremely proud of the way the boys battled. Isaac Sturgess led Powers with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Javontae Ross added 16 points. Teon Armstrong led Davison with 26 points. The Chargers return home Tuesday to face Flint Southwestern.
