Our boys and girls Varsity Bowling team competed at states this weekend, the first time both teams have made it in the same year. The teams bowled against the other 15 top teams in Division 3 to have a chance at a state title. After bowling the qualifying round, the boys came up just short of advancing to the top 8, however our girls qualified 2nd and moved on to the top 8 to begin bracket play. The girls would finish in the top 4 in the state for division three, marking three straight final four appearances.
For singles we had Lillee-Anne Jacobs (S) and Elizabeth Teuber (S) for the girls and Michael Teuber (J) and John Teuber (S) for the boys competing for a singles state title. All our bowlers were competing against the other 55 bowlers there, to qualify in the top 16, to compete in brackets. After bowling six qualifying games, John qualified 16th and faced the number 1 seed, where he lost after a close 2 game set.
Elizabeth qualified number one overall, and Lillee-Anne qualified 12th. The two would bowl their way into the final four where they had to face each other to move onto the finals.Elizabeth won an very emotional match against her lifelong best friend and went on to finish as the runner up in Division 3.
We had an incredible season for our program that saw a lot of success. We look forward to next year and wish our graduating seniors all the best moving forward.
