Powers Catholic Director of Athletics Mike Watson is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Stravato as our new head girls soccer coach. Stravato replaces Art Moody who had been a part of the girls soccer program at Powers for 17 years and stepped down at the end of November. Stravato also serves as our boys head soccer coach and continually leads the boys program to district and regional appearances and titles.  Paul brings a wealth of experience to our girls program. Wearing the number 5 on their wrists to honor ailing teammate Tino Jamison and with everything on the line, the Powers Chargers rallied together for a hard-fought victory over the tenacious Imlay City Spartans. It was a well-deserved and emotional win for the boys. The game's only goal came just six minutes in. Senior Leo Stravato found an opening on the right side of the box but, under heavy defensive pressure, opted to pass left to a streaking Logan Johnson, who buried the shot! It was a brilliant display of teamwork that secured the win. The rest of the match was a defensive battle. Imlay City fended off several scoring opportunities, but a shout out goes to our keeper, Armando Lopez, for making key saves, and to our back line, who fought hard to preserve the shutout. Next up is the regional final on Friday night, October 25th, at 6:30 p.m. at Atwood Stadium. Let's show up and support the team! Go Chargers!
